raffle/raffle draw

19/06/2014 16:24

A raffle is an event in which numbered tickets are sold, some of which are drawn at random to win prizes. The prizes in a raffle are often objects rather than money and raffles are usually held in order to raise money for some cause or organisation. Another word for 'raffle' is draw. So, to say 'raffle draw' amounts to repetition, which should be avoided.
